Background of the Study
Digital learning platforms have transformed educational delivery, offering innovative ways for students to access course materials, engage with instructors, and collaborate with peers. In Ifo, Ogun State, the integration of digital tools into the educational system has shown promise in enhancing academic performance (Olusegun, 2023). These platforms provide interactive and personalized learning experiences, which have been linked to improved comprehension and retention of information (Bamidele, 2024). However, challenges such as internet connectivity, digital literacy, and the adequacy of online content may affect the effectiveness of these platforms (Afolabi, 2025). This study investigates the impact of digital learning platforms on the academic performance of students in Ifo. By analyzing usage patterns, learning outcomes, and user experiences, the research aims to provide recommendations for optimizing digital education strategies and addressing challenges that hinder academic success.
Statement of the Problem
While digital learning platforms have been introduced to enhance academic performance in Ifo, several challenges persist. Inadequate internet connectivity, limited digital skills, and insufficient quality of online materials have contributed to inconsistent learning outcomes among students (Olaoye, 2023). These issues impede the potential benefits of digital education and require urgent attention. This study aims to investigate the extent to which these challenges affect academic performance and to propose solutions that can improve the effectiveness of digital learning in the local context (Akinola, 2024).
Objectives of the Study:
To evaluate the impact of digital learning platforms on academic performance.
To identify challenges affecting the effective use of digital education.
To recommend strategies for optimizing digital learning outcomes.
Research Questions:
How do digital learning platforms influence academic performance in Ifo?
